On Wednesday 25th January we will be hosting a Burns Night Supper. The evening will follow the traditional Burns night theme. Menu and price to follow, watch this space for details.

On Sunday lunch time we were full of families enjoying Halloween lunch, the children all had choclate dipped apples and sweets. ‘Count Backwards’ the magician moved around the tables performing tricks and then ended with a magic show for all the children.

On Thursday 22nd September 30 ladies attended a lunch here at The Langton Arms to help launch the new Dorset branch of WIRE – Women in rural enterprise. Pictured are some of the displays from the day.    

Thursday 8th September Watercolour Artist Sally Pinhey, of Kingston Maurward College gave a most interesting account last night of her Himalayan Trek, where she observed familiar garden plants in their natural habitat. Barbara and Angela both managed to climbed up and back down Snowdonia before they were fifty, they were aching a bit for a couple of days afterwards.  

On Wednesday 13th July 27 ladies attended the first meeting of the Dorset wire group. Barbara, Davina and Louise were amazed by the attendance and received lots of good positive feed back following the meeting. They are now looking forward to the official launch on Thursday 22nd September.

The Tarrant valley 10k run took place on Sunday 17th July 2011. The race was well supported again this year with 114 entrants. One of the villagers who used to work here at The Langton finished third in the race.   

The Langton Arms is the venue for the newly formed Dorset WiRE Network.  Barbara is a founding member of this network and along with Davina Skinner and Louise Talbot welcomes you next Wednesday 13 July, 7 for 7.30pm, for an informal get together to discuss plans of how Dorset WiRE may develop.  WiRE (Women in Rural Enterprise) is the only [...]
