Our Christmas menu full of Dorset produce is now available and will be on our website in the next couple of days.

Vegetable Garden

In the vegetable garden our Jerusalem artichokes have taken a real battering from the winds and rain over the last few days. Our leeks are being eaten by leek moth and the whole crop has been lost. Our tomatoes have failed to rippen so we think we will be making green tomato chutney.

  Great Dorset Steam Fair

 We were pleased to receive a comment on our blog from a visitor to the steam fair. The customer had heard our advert on Steam Fair FM, it is sometimes difficult to know where to advertise so it is good to get feedback.

While Anna’s been away we have been really busy at The Langton. Today the first steam engines have visited from the Great Dorset Steam Fair to sample our selection of fine real ales.

The most common saying from our wedding couples is ' We would like a day that is relaxed, with a happy party atmosphere'

This room has so much history; it was an old nissan hut brought down from Blandford Camp to Tarrant Monkton many years ago so that the soldiers could have a beer. Who would have thought that this old hut would become one of Dorset most popular wedding venues. The room can seat up to 72 guests on six large round tables.

Unfortunately due to low numbers we had to cancel the talk and presentation on Botanical Himalayan trek & familiar garden plants that was due to take place last week. This event has now been rescheduled for Thursday 8th September.

Family friendly

Please remember we are proud to be a family friendly pub, children are welcome in both the bars and Stables Restaurant. Our childrens menu offers the same local produce as our regular menus, any of the dishes can be served with a choice of potatoes and either baked beans, peas or a selection of vegetables. The childrens play area is well equiped with something for all ages. 

There is nothing nicer than to see both parents and grandparents enjoying a nice Sunday lunch at The Langton Arms.
