We will be closed on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day. We are then open from Tuesday 27th December serving food all day on 27th, 28th, 29th, and 30th. 

On Saturday 31st food will be served during the day; in the evening we will be holding a New Years Eve Party and serving a buffet supper priced at £15.95.

While Anna’s been away we have been really busy at The Langton. Today the first steam engines have visited from the Great Dorset Steam Fair to sample our selection of fine real ales.

Unfortunately due to low numbers we had to cancel the talk and presentation on Botanical Himalayan trek & familiar garden plants that was due to take place last week. This event has now been rescheduled for Thursday 8th September.

Family friendly

Please remember we are proud to be a family friendly pub, children are welcome in both the bars and Stables Restaurant. Our childrens menu offers the same local produce as our regular menus, any of the dishes can be served with a choice of potatoes and either baked beans, peas or a selection of vegetables. The childrens play area is well equiped with something for all ages.

The veg patch & community corner

Our vegetable patch is currently being prepared for sowing for 2011. This is our third year of growing our own veg, each year we are learning a little more about what suits the soil and the best times for planting each crop to supply the kitchen with the best seasonal produce. 

Katherine’s chicken coupe seems to be thriving and the chicken are happy!

Mavis’s sheep with their lambs are now back in the field .

Helen from Gunville has marked out a little spot to grow her own kitched garden so our community plot is growing.

The pub

Our regular fish specials board seems to be popular.

We are just starting another full wedding season with lots of happy couples tying the knot or celebrating their weddings with us.   

Don’t forget the great local walks on our website, copies are available to borrow from the bar.

If you haven’t looked at our menu’s for a while then classics such as Dorset venison & wild boar sausages can be found on our Bar menu and favourites such as our own herd ’Tarrant Valley’ sirloin steak with a Dorset Blue Vinny sauce can be found on our a la carte menu. Oh and don’t forget, we don’t charge you extra for your vegetables, in fact your welcome to ask for more at no extra cost! Before the shooting season comes to a close, this week you’ll find on our ‘Specials Board’  a pan roasted breast of local pheasant served with it’s own confit leg on a bed of spiced, braised red cabbage & roasted Charlotte potatoes.

Our weddings are going from strength to strength and we only have a couple of free weekends left for this year and we’re filling up very quickly for 2011! Our individually tailored wedding packages have certainly hit a high note with our prospective newly weds and we like to feel that we offer a more personal and individual wedding day than some of the larger chain hotels.
