Those of you that regularly read our blog will remember our so-called ‘controversial veg patch’…… well we’re delighted to announce that not only will we be growing vegetables in our field at The Langton Arms but we will also be having some free range chickens running about!

Some of the villagers have requested a corner of the field to keep chickens and we thought it would be a great idea. The scheme will be starting shortly so watch this space for news of when the eggs will be on the menu! The lambs in the same field are also going to be appearing on the menu very shortly, we’re currently putting together our Mothering Sunday menu and we hope to feature our home grown ‘Tarrant Monkton’ leg of lamb studded with garlic & rosemary!

Tarrant Rawston, Dorset Beef

Whilst we’re on the subject of Sunday lunch, we would like to let you know the beef we are using this month are from our own herd at Tarrant Rawston. It will be featuring on the menu in a few guises namely our famous crispy beef & chilli mayo starter and of course as roast beef with a Yorkshire pudding.

Rest assured, all the local produce coming from the field isn’t affecting the peace and tranquility enjoyed by our guest chalets which do back on to the field.

Take a look at our: Stables Restaurant A La Carte Menu and our Traditional Fayre Light Bites Menu and see what takes your fancy!

We’re very proud of our food and we have kept our Traditional Fayre menu’s running from day one. In an ever changing environment of gastro pubs and fine dining we have always stayed true to our roots and have kept supporting local produce and traditional food. We also offer our customers the option of fine dining and that’s why you will always find something local, seasonal and expertly prepared for you on our a la carte menu.

If you haven’t looked at our menu’s for a while then classics such as Dorset venison & wild boar sausages can be found on our Bar menu and favourites such as our own herd ’Tarrant Valley’ sirloin steak with a Dorset Blue Vinny sauce can be found on our a la carte menu. Oh and don’t forget, we don’t charge you extra for your vegetables, in fact your welcome to ask for more at no extra cost! Before the shooting season comes to a close, this week you’ll find on our ‘Specials Board’ a pan roasted breast of local pheasant served with it’s own confit leg on a bed of spiced, braised red cabbage & roasted Charlotte potatoes.

There really is something for everyone at The Langton Arms and we guarantee you can find local, fresh produce featuring highly on our menu’s across the board. If you haven’t visited us before then take a look around our website and then give us a ring or contact us now and book a table or just pop in and read the newspaper over a pint of real ale.

Our weddings are going from strength to strength and we only have a couple of free weekends left for this year and we’re filling up very quickly for 2011! Our individually tailored wedding packages have certainly hit a high note with our prospective newly weds and we like to feel that we offer a more personal and individual wedding day than some of the larger chain hotels.

All in all 2010 looks to be another busy year at The Langton Arms and we’d love to have you on board so why not try us out! You’ve nothing to lose and we know you’ll want to come back for more!
